That triangle thing there under the dome is a pediment (from this angle, it’s an impediment to seeing the rest of the dome). The pediment is on the top of the portico (a portico is  a porch that’s fancier than yours) at the front of the building (facing west southwest). Did you get all that?


While the outside of this capitol is great for gawking, the inside is even more interesting!
