Places to see, places to eat (food, that is)!

This is the house that Huey built. Huey Long; he was the man behind the tallest state capitol in the whole USA. Governor Long (he later became one of Louisiana’s two US Senators) was determined to bring the state of Louisiana into the 20th century (he felt it was trapped in the old ways of doing things) and building a new capitol building was one way of doing that. This modern office building was designed and built in less than two years, in the middle of the Great Depression. It cost a fortune and paying for it took a long time.
