The City of Trenton has been popular with visitors since 1776, when General George Washington (remember him?) sneaked his troops across the Delaware river and surprised the Hessian solders stationed there (one of whom apparently found his way into my family tree sometime later).

The state house buildings (there are actually 8 different buildings) date from the 1870’s to 2000 in a hodgepodge of styles united only by  ugliness and poor quality.
