Day 302 - a year in Forest Park

A break in the rain

I was up bright and early this morning, hoping the weatherman was right when he predicted sun for today. I wanted to catch a sunrise over the park, so I headed back to my favorite Skinker Avenue High Rise to catch old man Sun in all his early morning glory. It was not to be. Today the entire sky was socked in with clouds until sunset (and then I was shooting a baby portrait in the loop). I came back from the mountain disgusted with the current state of weather forecasting (it’s actually 100% accurate for the previous 24 hours).

It was a while before I could get back to the park. I had corporate portraits (here’s my favorite from earlier this year), errands to run and calls to return before I had the chance to take another swing at the quotidian. Fall colors are still in vogue, but the trees are becoming bare. Large flocks of crows kept me company for a lot of my walk, but then I had to skedaddle to get to the Delmar BreadCo in time for my next job. I was walking past Blueberry Hill when the sun made his rather tardy appearance. Here’s what I found in today’s short walk.
