Some other day
Now that I think about it, I distinctly remember, as a child, saying “Rain, rain, go away, come again some other day.”
I fear I may have said it a few too many times and now the whole city is suffering (don’t tell anyone, please).
Regardless of fault, however, the rain seems to be here to stay. My house is inching down the street toward the bottom of the hill, gators are swimming in my basement and a whale has beached itself in my back yard.
Well, it’s almost that bad. One thing that really is happening is fungi all over the place. The dubious ‘shrooms that were ringing the pines trees at Wells and Faulkner drives gleamed red in today’s dim light. Quite pretty, really.
But there was an overabundance of H2O everywhere I went (getting down to mushroom level was a very soggy experience). If the park has to be saturated with chemicals, why not Au or Ag ? Those would suit me much better and are also found in nature (though it’s probably better that they aren’t found in Forest Park - it might cause overcrowding).
It was a good, if somewhat damp, walk today in Forest Park, and now that I’m in a drier location I’ll drink a toast to old man sun. Perhaps he’ll dry up all the rain so as to enable that incy-wincy spider to retrace his journey up the water spout. Here’s what I found today.
