Elephant in the room
The only animal I actually saw in the room at the zoo tonight was a peregrine falcon (she had a hood on, so she couldn’t see me), but all through the excellent presentation on the rebuilding of the peregrine population (there is s nesting pair on one of the buildings at the Washington University Medical Center), I kept thinking of the seemingly unceasing precipitation (I don’t like using the “R” word).
Tuesday evening the History Museum is open late and frequently hosts meetings, some public and some private (the Junior League was having an event there tonight, which explained all the cars lining the streets outside). The lights on the outside of the building cast weird shadows and strange faces in the stone wall above the inner doors leered down at me. I wandered from north to south and back out to the wet, me, my umbrella and my camera. Photos
