The issue is not so much what to photograph, but what not to photograph. In looking at what I find each day in Forest Park (the queen of urban parks), I am reminded of just how much there is to capture there. The ubiquitous duck, duck, goose, a host of smaller, less approachable birds and the occasional bird of prey all inhabit a place just a small distance from my home. There is also color, contrast, form and a complex interplay of light and shadow waiting to be discovered. Today it was horizon, gumballs, grasses, a frozen lake, rocks, cattails, the sun and the moon. That’s a lot, don’t you think?
