Ars Gratia Artis
It’s quite an edifice (and I’ve got an edifice complex)! Designed by architect Cass Gilbert (who also designed the Minnesota and West Virginia state capitols and the U.S. Supreme Court building, it is the dominating feature in Forest Park, and the only building left from the 1904 Worlds Fair. It’s lit up at night, too!
But inside the art museum (and if you’ve never entered, shame on you), there is art, Art, ART and more art (imagine that)! I looked at the Art and the art of the building (see above complex) as I strolled through, talking to monitors, admiring the view and taking photos. I even found my own image there (as a silhouette on the wall). I wonder how they got that?
