Prowler in the Park
Tonight, lulled by the warm weather into thinking that maybe spring was here early, I went out without any gloves. My hands got very cold as I prowled Forest Park looking for photos. I carefully avoided the Grand Basin (though it is always spectacularly lit) in order to explore other areas. I did spend some time around the Muny (where I almost ran over a raccoon) and the World’s Fair Pavilion (where I seemed to be the only living creature around).
It’s a dark night tonight. The moon, almost full, is hidden by heavy clouds, but every so often they would part long enough for me to catch a glimpse of it. An occasional car would pass me, but otherwise the only sounds were the rustling of the trees, honking of the ubiquitous geese and sirens in the west end. I seemed to have the park to myself.
