Calm and quiet rain
Today it was much quieter in Forest Park. The cars that had crowded the park for Earth Day (imagine that) were gone and only trash was left behind. A light rain was falling on and off as I roamed the Kennedy Forest. The dew glistened on the May Apple leaves and the flowering plants that grow there under the trees. I heard the train in the Zoo whistle, and immediately “Wabash Cannonball” got stuck in my mind (I hummed the tune for at least 30 minutes after that).
The redbuds are almost played out, but honeysuckle is in bloom and smells wonderfully sweet. The grass is high around parts of the Art Museum and drops of water glistened all around me. I followed a butterfly briefly and caught a few moments you might like to share. Green is in right now, by the way.
