Day 121 - a year in Forest Park

- documentary photography & writing by Edward Crim, St. Louis

which way?

I’ve touched on this issue before, in my first 4 months in Forest Park: where in the park should I go (when is another issue)? Today, I began my trek at the Forest Park Visitor Center (you can get breakfast there if you want) at about 8:20 and wound up back there about 3 hours later. It was an interesting in-between.

I have been considering using some of my previous art themes in the park (such as Red, Beetle, and Lost on the Highway), but every time I start, another thread presents itself to me. Sometimes I arrive at the park and it’s packed with people for an event (whole lotta runnin’ goin’ on). At other times it seems I’m the only one there (such as this past January when it was 10F). But empty or full (of humans) there is always something going on in Forest Park. Remember, I’m looking for contrast, color, shape, and action in Animal, Vegetable and Mineral. And seeking promotes finding. Every time.
