Carpe Diem
I admit it, I had breakfast on my mind. I’d taken Melvina to school and was in the kitchen toasting raisin bread (YUM!). I had just put the kettle on for a hot beverage (you did notice it was a bit on the cold side this morning, didn’t you?) when I glanced out the window and saw snow falling. Big fat clumps of snow rushing toward the ground. I paused for about 10 seconds weighing the competing claims of art and refreshment. Art won. I have learned the hard way that photo opportunities don’t last long.
I hustled into my winter expedition wear, grabbed my bag of photon catchers and headed out the door.
I parked the ‘lac near the Deer Lake river scape and wandered along the path there. As I rounded the corner of the footpath, headed east, I saw five egrets there in the pond near the Lafayette bridge (I think they’re taking over the park). I had about twenty minutes there in the park before the snow tapered off, but I think I got some pretty good photos while I was there.
