Oh, me aching back!
You may remember Super Lens; or maybe not. But I was out with it again today, trying to catch some birds. Super Lens is big. Super Lens is heavy. Super Lens is a bit on the awkward side. Super Lens is a Canon 400mm f2.8 telephoto lens with a 2x teleconverter (which makes it an 800mm f5.6 lens). using it with my Canon 1D Mark II, I was able to get some pretty good photos today. But all of the trouble of hauling tripod & lens around and then of trying to follow rapidly moving objects, brought me to a new appreciation of the lengths wildlife photographers must go to in order to get the images they do. In photo number 22, you can see Sarah, the Great Horned Owl quite clearly. In the next image, where I’m looking over the top of the lens to see the owl in the distance, you can get a better idea of where I was in relation to the owl. Enjoy!
