In the Market
I enjoyed the beauty of FoPa (as my older daughter calls it) just as much today as I do on other days. Its tranquility soothes the soul and calms the nerves. My evening started with an engagement session for Adam and Karyl (big/tall and cute/small) and we had a blast walking through the park looking at the sites. I showed them a Killdeer nest with its four perfect eggs, they kissed on the Victorian Footbridge (which was built in 1885), strolled along the boardwalk by the Steinberg Skating Rink, and ambled over wooded hills near the athletic fields.
I stayed on after the two of them left (Karyl had to work) and meandered around Post-Dispatch lake watching the birds fuss at each other (red winged blackbirds get quite aggressive - I watched one chase an egret into a tree and then harass it for at least five more minutes. Even the egrets were chasing each other).
Climbing Government Hill to the Worlds Fair Pavilion presented me with a view of people playing in the fountain there (it looked quite inviting). I said hello to Pele and his girlfriend before I bumped into Mark Glenshaw, the owl man and went with him to see Sarah and Charles.
But I will admit, Dear Reader, that I had the sad state of Trudy on my mind. I spent a moment or two eying the above vehicle as a possible replacement before rejecting it on the grounds of ostentation, but if you should know of an available 1986 Cadillac Sedan DeVille in clean condition for a reasonable price, do not hesitate to me know!
Oh, yes, and I did take a few photos.
