Day 130 - a year in Forest Park

A busy morning
One of the things Forest Park lacks (yes, it does lack a few things) is a park-wide event calendar. There is simply no way to tell, for instance, that if you go to the park today to buy some plants at the Flora Conservancy's plant sale, you will become entangled in the traffic generated by Webster University having its graduation ceremony at the Muny. This lack of information and coordination between the park’s major institutions is not an unusual thing, either. In fact, it’s the norm (and is addressed in the 2008 Forest Park Access, Circulation, and Parking Study commissioned by the City of St. Louis Board of Public Service).
But still, for all the confusion that goes on there, we love our park and the sights, sounds and smells that one finds there.
In today’s adventure, Your Favorite Photographer, accompanied by his good-natured wife and sharp-eyed son, roamed from the Jewel Box to the Steinberg Rink to the Fleur-de-lis fountain at Round Lake and back again. There is a lot to see there, and today was sunny and cool with a picture-perfect sky. Here’s the link.
