Free Running & Camera on a stick

“Look!” a girl called out to her friends as I walked towards the fountain in front of the Worlds Fair Pavilion. “A camera on a stick!”

I was looking for a different perspective today, so I mounted my camera on a painters pole and went out to see what things looked like from 15 or 20 feet up. I did get a different view of a familiar place, and I also attracted a lot of attention (I would rather blend into the background, but the stick did make it difficult). I met Rich and his family (Rich is taking a photo across the Grand Basin in today’s photo number 5), watched Mr Tada demonstrate his Japanese Top Spinning techniques and met Corey and Tony there by the equestrian statue of King Louis.

In the short video above you can see Corey (L)  & Tony, going through some of their acrobatic routines (they call it free running). It’s really quite impressive! And there are more photos for your perusal here.
