Invisible Sunrise
I got up early this morning (5 O’Clock, that’s early for me) just to see the sunrise, but the orange glow in the photo above was as much as I ever found of it. It was dark. It was still wet (from yesterday’s prodigious rains), and it was threatening more rain, but there was still a lot to see. I had the park almost to myself for the 2 hours I was there, other than the men out mowing grass on the golf course (they waved as I walked by) and a lone golfer hitting balls over my head as I sat on the edge of the water hazard and shot the flowers (but not the deputy; I would never shoot the deputy).
So, Dear Reader, tell me the truth: when was the last time you took an early morning walk and savored the leaves, the flowers, the grasses and the trees? I hope, if it’s been a while, that you will get out soon and enjoy the beauty that’s all around us (well, if you live in the St.. Louis area, at least ;).
I managed to get back to my house about 15 minutes before we had a torrential downpour, complete with lightning and thunder that rattled the windows of my c1885 farm house. It was, to say the least, quite impressive! But I suppose you want to see what I found today.
