Day 200 - a year in Forest Park

Day 200!!!

You’ll never guess where I found this marker stone! Wait, what? Darn! Google Earth just makes this much too easy! Easy for you, that is; I didn’t find the thing until today, my 200th day in Forest Park. And I was even told it was here (though “in the park” is not very precise description of this marker’s  location)! It may be the second oldest man-made item in the park (after the Victorian Footbridge and before the Visitor Center), having been placed there in 1890 (2 years after my Grandmother was born).

But my son Austen and I were not the only ones making tracks for Forest Park: there were all sorts of people there, cycling, walking and doin’ all sorts of other things. The AAA Golf course is shaping up nicely, flowers are everywhere and I can’t help but wonder if those berries I found are edible! Which reminds me, the raspberries in the Kennedy forest should be ripe by now; I’ll race you there!

Oh, wait, photos.
