Splash!
There is a lot of water in Forest Park, even when it’s not raining (there is a lot under the park as well, but that’s another story)! The many lakes (about a dozen small ones, not counting what’s in the Zoo), stocked with fish, turtles, frogs, shellfish and crayfish (that would explain all the egrets and herons and muskrats that like to hang around) provide a constant temptation to the hot and bothered.
This is the inlet pool for the stream that helps fill Bowl Lake in the south east corner of the park. It was a bit on the warm side today, and that water did, indeed, look cool and inviting. This is one spot where splashing seems to be tolerated (don’t try it in the pool in front of the Worlds Fair Pavilion). Where ever people take the opportunity to wet their appetites (and everything else) in Forest Park, you’ll find me there whetting my photo skills.
Also in today’s installment, my first walk on the new berm between Bowl Lake and the west bound ramp onto US 40 from south bound Kingshighway (there is a good view from up there, by the way). The Jewish American Tercentenary monument, and DUCK FIGHTS!!!! Here are the pic picks.
