Day 229 - a year in Forest Park

August storm

The power went out at my place today. This hasn’t happened since the storm of ’06 (you remember, the one that knocked down the big trees in Forest Park, and left a lot of folks without power for a week). I had just posted a note on facebook about it (via my cell phone) when the lights came on again (Yea! It was getting stuffy in the house). The storm had forced postponement of my portrait for this afternoon, so I gathered my clan (as many as wanted to go) and off we went for America’s Premier urban park (where there’s always something to see if you take the time to look).

The park was a bit on the wet side (no surprise there) but we still had a great walkabout. We said hello to the other creatures we encountered, thought thoughts involving chiaroscuro  and even managed to get a few photos while we were there.
