God must like yellow
Standing on the path that cuts across the Kennedy Savannah there is a sea of yellow flowers all around (The flower above was on the lawn of the Art Museum), many of them reaching above my head. There are, of course, flowers of other colors about; there’s the red Cardinal flower and the orange Jewel Weed (touch-me-not), that seems to fill the Kennedy forest. There are blue and purple flowers of various sorts, some I recognize (such as Chicory and Thistle) and some I don’t. The number of flowers in Forest Park alone is more than I can remember. But yellow flowers are such that fields are made of. Not only in the west of the park, behind the Art Museum and scattered across the Kennedy Savannah, but in the Deer Lake wild area near the Muny and all around the Steinberg wild area next to the Skating Rink. Tall yellow flowers toss and wave in the summer breezes, making it seem as if they, like Birnam Wood, are on the move (look out, Macbeth!).
Today’s photos.
