Day 218 - a year in Forest Park

Byzantium

Don’t ask me why (‘cause I don’t know) but as I walked to the north east corner of Forest Park, a line from WB Yeats poem “Sailing to Byzantium” popped into my mind. I’m not a Yeats fan, particularly, but the strong imagery and forceful meter of this poem have caused parts of it to stick in my mind. It is also the end of a busy day for me (as most are). I’m wrapping up the orders from the large (over 5000 people attending) conference I photographed in Nashville three weeks ago and I have over 260 packages in my studio ready to be mailed tomorrow. Thats a lot of packages, and it required a lot of preparation before I ordered the photographs (the lab bill is almost $3k) as well as a lot of hunting around for the right packaging materials. The actual packing of the orders took from 10 am to 7 pm with two qualified helpers. Now I’m a bit on the tired side. But, not too tired to bring you photos from the four corners of the park!
