Day 219 - a year in Forest Park

Mary’s senior portrait

Have I told you that I actually do photography for a living? Today I got a chance to contribute to the bottom line when I did a senior portrait session with Mary and her mom in ( you guessed it) Forest Park. I was out in Wildwood all day for a conference, but I managed to be over to the Visitor Center by 6:30 to start Mary’s session.

Who would have imagined that August could be so wonderful? The weather was clear and cool (which is good for PR as sweaty photographers can get a bit fragrant), and the time of day was just right for that “magic light”. We wandered past the Confederate Memorial, through the Deer Lake Savannah (Deer Lake is drained at the moment, and someone parked his backhoe there), over the Lafayette Bridge to the rocks by the Columbus Bridge, snapping photos as we went. Needless to say, we got a lot of great shots. You can see them ri’chere.
