Day 220 - a year in Forest Park

- photography & writing by Edward Crim

And I thought yesterday was busy!

I was up early this morning to get myself ready for the second and final day of the Leadership conference produced by Willow Creek Association. I was home shortly after 6 pm and had to make myself ready to pop down to a nail salon near Lemay to photograph tomorrows bride and her wedding party getting their pedicures. Home again at about 8:30 pm, I downloaded those photos and got myself ready to wander Forest Park.

The air tonight was a bit on the humid and warm side, but there was a breeze blowing, which helped cool us down a bit. We saw a brilliant shooting star (that was the photo that got away), found one of the juvenile owls on Picnic Island, begging for his supper, and chased 3 raccoons out of a trash can. Throughout all this I was busy feeding the mosquitos, which were thicker than dried catsup on the table of a greasy spoon restaurant.  I’m not certain the little vampires left enough for the Red Cross to get any.

I also took a number of panorama photos, but you’ll have to wait for those as it’s way past my bedtime. Photos.
