Hidden meadow
Hidden away in a place where few would find it, this meadow sported quite a variety of wildflowers in white, yellow, red, purple and blue. It was a bit damp and soggy underfoot, but I explored it none the less and found quite a lot of different flowers and other plants. As I was leaving, I was treated to the sight of some zoo escapees slipping into the forest. A Peacock and three hens, having flown over the fence to freedom, headed into the deep woods to see what was happening there. Over by the north entrance to the Zoo, I met Jo Ann, who was working the parking booth there and watching people wandering the park. So I wandered the park as well, cutting across Shakespeare Glen to the Grand Basin, and then around Post Dispatch Lake past the Boathouse and the party going on at the World’s Fair Pavilion before returning home. I do have a bunch of photos to show you, and I also have a lot of work to do, and miles to go before I sleep.
